Chlane is real life married couple Chloe & Lane Ingram. Honed like river rocks over the course of many millennia, their variety show, An Evening with Chlane, delights in being a two-way mirror of their marriage. What music are they jammin’? Who are their comedy inspirations? WILL THIS SHOW TEAR THEIR MARRIAGE APART? Good thing we put them in the hot seat to find out.
Where are you from?
How long have you been performing?
Over 10 years
Who are your inspirations, both in comedy & not?
Chloe: David Letterman, Chris Farley, Laurie Metcalf, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, and Molly Shannon. Non-comedy would be Norah O'Donnell.
Lane: My biggest comedy inspirations growing up were Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, & Chris Farley. As I've gotten older I'm increasingly inspired by Martin Short, Amy Poehler, & Adam McKay. Non-comedy inspirations I gotta go with Viktor Frankl and Pauline Kael.
What's the vibe of the show you're performing at ASF?
In An Evening with Chlane, we explore sex, relationships, and forbidden desires. Being married in real life gives us an opportunity to show audiences a window into our relationship, however heightened and nonsensical it may be. If you have been disappointed by the lack of face licking in the comedy scene, this show is for you. This show is so good, it’s tearing apart our marriage! Not really but, hey, we gotta sell this thing.
What is the origin of your teams name?
Chlane is a ridiculous portmanteau of our names: Chloe + Lane. A few years ago we had a last minute sign up for a show and in a panic we "created" this. Why change now?
What music are you currently listening to?
Lane: The Stones, man. Always.
Chloe: Anderson .Paak, Kurt Vile, and anything on the Stax label.
Build a perfect breakfast taco. We will be judging you.
Lane: juevos con chorizo y queso fresco!
Chloe: chorizo con papas, and some sort of verde salsa
